This Burb x Shylow Stoops hoodie takes us on a journey through history while commemorating the “Father of Black History,” aka Carter G. Woodson, who founded the Association of the Study of African American Life and History. Woodson was passionate about wanting to commemorate the achievements of Black individuals, some of whom are featured on the back of our hoodie. The figures listed on the left honour important Black individuals who have passed away while the figures listed on the right are presently influential. From the symbols down to the colours, every element in this hoodie has a symbolic meaning and purpose. The graphics on the sleeve each individually indicate a different meaning in Africa - wisdom, creativity, unity, greatness, and leadership. The colour yellow represents riches plundered under occupation, and green the fertility of land.
